We have been blessed during the past several years with the intense dedication of Mark Lafer to our financial affairs. Serving as congregational treasurer, Mark reorganized and improved our whole financial process and did our holy congregation a great, great service. Awarding him our highest honor, the Helping Hands Award, was an inevitability, but his untimely illness and passing meant that he never lived to receive the award. He did know, in his final days, that we would be giving him the award, and he appreciated our appreciation.

At the Shabbat service on Friday April 22—which coincides with Mark’s sheloshim, the 30th day after his passing, we shall honor him and give thanks for his dedicated service to Brit Shalom.
