Please join us for an outdoor, masked, socially-distant Shavuot event from 12 to 2 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, May 16 at Congregation Brit Shalom.
This event, open to all members of the Congregation, will be made up of different stations that families can visit to celebrate and honor the Ten Commandments, such as:
Singing the Shema (There is only one G-d)
Bowling (knocking over idols since we should not make pretend idols)
Serving parents ice cream (Listen to your parents and take care of them.) Dairy is traditionally eaten on Shavuot, but we will have dairy alternatives, and kids can take a snack break, too, during this station!
Paint rocks with kind words and phrases (Do not say things that are not true)
Learn a new blessing from a provided list (G-d is special)
Decorate “Just Because” cards and leave them in a box to be mailed to members of the Congregation. (Do not hurt other people, flipped to focus on “Respecting Others.)
There will be other stations as well for people to visit. Masks are required at all times, except for when eating.
In the event of inclement weather, we will notify you of any necessary cancelation information.
We hope you can join us for this fun and educational event! For any questions or concerns, please email Becca Thorsen, beccapthorsen@gmail.com, or Marjorie Miller, marjorie.stromberg@gmail.com.
